Are Mini Laptops Here To Stay Or The Latest Fad
OK what is the deal with all these “mini” notebooks that are hitting the market at a record pace. Seems like every time I turn around in an electronics store I am seeing another PC maker making an itty bitty notebook. This new wave of technology has really taken me by surprise at the way it seems to be taking off in popularity. I mean correct me if I am wrong but these teenie weenie laptops only started hitting the market earlier this year did they not?
I guess it’s the progression of all things involved in technology for everything to eventually get smaller and faster. Dare I say the tech wizards are probably a hair away from putting every type of media/communication/computer gadget into one all purpose Swiss army tech toy. Seriously as small as these new wave of mini laptops are why not just up the size of a blackberry a little bit and make a pc/phone/music/tv/movie device that we can just attach to ear and wear on our head!
Don’t get me wrong I love gadgets and technology and I am always amazed by how fast and small they are making all these things. I have had a couple of hands on moments in the stores with some of these mini laptops and to me it’s just too small. I like my laptop to have a bit size to it with a decent size screen and a comfortable keyboard. With that said I think I will save my money for some other fancy gadget to play with and keep my good ole 15″ laptop.
I am curios to know if anyone out there has purchased one of these mini laptops and if you prefer the new mini size or are you considering going back to a full sized laptop. Is this mini laptop phase just a fad or is this new level of miniaturizing our technology going to take off?
